Our clinic offers the most advanced PRP technology for superior platelet dose (more regeneration) + expert injection protocols = highly effective, natural skin renewal procedure for best patient results.
PRP Skin Rejuvenation is an innovative procedure that initiates and sustains a ‘Biological Reset’ within the skin where it is injected. It has been scientifcally proven to refresh, tone and tighten by repairing the elasticity, colour and quality of the skin.
WHAT IS PRP
(PRP = PLATELET RICH PLASMA)
PRP is an extract of your own blood that contains a high concentration of platelets, growth factors, and bio-active proteins essential for tissue regeneration and healing.
It has been used by doctors for many years to accelerate surgical healing; repair tendon, ligament and joint damage; heal skin wounds; and help regrow muscle and bone.
The same physiological process that aids healing in other areas of the body occurs when PRP is used to improve skin health and appearance.

PRP BENEFITS
The potential benefits of PRP have led to widespread interest in its use for anti-aging and aesthetic purposes. Published scientific research in PRP has stated that it can:
-
Improve skin’s overall health, tone, elasticity
-
Reduce shallow wrinkles and lines
-
Minimise appearance of scars
-
Promote more even skin tone and texture
-
Increase skin cell’s production of collagen, elastin and HA
HOW DOES SKIN REJUVENATION
PRP PROCEDURE WORK?
When PRP is injected into the skin, the platelets release growth factors, which act as ‘chemical controllers’ to instruct other cells on what work has to be done (eg make new collagen).
Collagen is what gives skin a youthful appearance but with increasing age, skin cell function declines, collagen production reduces, causing wrinkles and fine lines in the skin.
Therapies such as PRP, that stimulate new cell growth and collagen, can help stabilise and improve the skin ageing process.
WHERE CAN PRP BE USED?
The regeneration properties of PRP can be used in the following research proven treatments:
-
Any skin area requiring rejuvenation
-
Fine lines, wrinkles and other facial creases
-
Crow’s feet, under eye dark circles and hollows
-
Acne scarring and other superficial scars
-
Sun damaged areas and pigmentation
-
Stretch marks – abdomen, thighs, buttocks
-
For aging skin on the neck and décolletage to improve tone and texture
HOW IS PRP THERAPY DONE?
01. A small volume (15 - 30ml) of the patient’s blood is collected in the same way as a standard blood test.
02. Using a patented platelet-concentrating device and a centrifuge, the platelets are separated from the whole blood and collected in a concentrated sample known as PRP.
03. The PRP is injected into the superficial skin layers using a very fine needle after numbing gel has been applied.
The procedure is minimally invasive. Patients may have some subtle skin redness at the completion of the procedure, and there is minimal downtime or recovery time – except for no excessive exercise for 24 hours.

CLINICAL CASES OF PRP SKIN REJUVENATION PROCEDURE

SAFETY OF PRP
As the injection is the patient’s own biology, PRP injections have an excellent safety profile. The procedure is provided under stringent guidelines to provide a medical procedure with minimal risk of complications. There is also little chance of a reaction because the material being injected back in to the patient is from their own blood.
In Australia, PRP procedures and Medical Devices are regulated by the TGA, to improve safety for patients and patient will be under the care of an trained PRP doctor for the procedure.
PRP skin rejuvenation is suitable for all skin colours, ages and types. It is always best to discuss the use of any medical therapy with your treating health practitioner as they will be the best person to advise whether PRP may be of benefit to you.
Published research and our Doctors’ results have shown that the best results are achieved by a series of 3 treatments at 4 or 6 week intervals initially and then yearly thereafter.
Immediately after the procedure, the injected area will feel tighter, and lines/wrinkles will appear minimised. This degree of skin tightening will not last, and will return more to normal after 4 days. However the PRP will be working under the skin to make new cells and improve the subsurface layers of the skin. This is not an immediate process and the more pronounced effects can be seen 6 weeks after the procedure. Most patients report the improvements lasting for 1 year.
